How to Swap & Bridge

A complete guide to using the DMF Swap & Bridge, which chains are supported, what tokens you can use, how fees work, and what to expect.

What is DMF Swap & Bridge?

DMF Swap & Bridge is a built-in feature of the DMF App that lets you move value across 72 blockchain networks. You can swap tokens within the same chain, bridge tokens between chains, or on-ramp directly into dmfUSD on Base.

It uses DMF's solver network, a production-grade routing layer that has facilitated over $20B in cross-chain volume. Only established tokens are supported, stablecoins, blue-chip assets, and utility-grade tokens. No meme coins, no casino tokens.

Every swap and bridge transaction donates 0.04% of the volume to the dmfUSD contract as USDC, increasing the backing-per-token for all holders.

Supported Chains & Tokens

DMF Swap & Bridge supports 68 chains in total. Below are the most commonly used ones and their available tokens:

Non-EVM token search: Solana, Bitcoin, and Tron support specific tokens only (see table above). If the token you want doesn't appear in the widget's search list, paste its contract address directly into the token search field.

How to Swap — Step by Step

1. Open the DMF App & Connect

Go to app.dmfam.org and connect your wallet. For EVM chains, use MetaMask, Rabby, or WalletConnect. For Solana, select a Solana token first, the widget will prompt for Phantom or Backpack.

2. Select your source token

Click SELECT TOKEN on the Sell side. Search for your token or browse by chain. If you're on a non-EVM chain and your token doesn't appear, paste its contract address directly into the search field.

3. Select dmfUSD or your destination token

The Buy side defaults to USDC on Base (which can then be deposited into dmfUSD). You can change it to any supported token on any chain.

4. Enter amount & review

Enter how much you want to swap. The widget automatically finds the best route across all available bridges and solvers. Review the estimated output, fees, and estimated time.

5. Confirm & sign

Approve the token if required, then sign the transaction. Cross-chain swaps typically settle in 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Same-chain swaps are instant.

Fee Flow

Every swap and bridge transaction has built-in fees that serve the DMF ecosystem:

  • Solver fee — Covers execution costs (gas, solver margin). Typically 0.06–0.11% of volume.
  • DMF backing donation (0.04%) — 0.04% of volume is donated to the dmfUSD contract as USDC. Increases totalAssets, raising backing-per-token for all holders.

Total varies by route, typically 0.05–0.10%. There are no hidden fees.

Wallet Notes

  • EVM chains — Use MetaMask, Rabby, WalletConnect, or any EVM-compatible wallet. Connect via the DMF App Connect.
  • Solana — Select a Solana token first, then the widget will prompt you to connect Phantom or Backpack. The widget handles Solana wallet connections internally.
  • Bitcoin — BTC has bridge-only support (no swaps). Use Leather or Xverse.
  • Tron — Limited token support. Use TronLink.
  • Gas not covered — You need native gas tokens (ETH, SOL, etc.) on the source chain to pay for transaction execution.
